Base 10 (Decimal System)

Base 10 is the number system we used everyday
Examples
- 5.99
- 256
- 3,272
Any value between 0-9
Value x Base^Exponent
- For example (Using 426)

4	2	6
4 x 10^2	2 x 10^1	6 x 10^0
400	20	6

Answer of 400 + 20 + 6
- Also called 426

Base 2 (Binary System)

Each column can only have 2 values
- 0 and 1
Start in right column
- Multiply each digit by 2 raised to increasing in power
- For example (Using 0101)

0	1	0	1
0 x 2^3	1 x 2^2	0 x 2^1	1 x 2^0
0	4	0	1

Answer of 0 + 4 + 0 + 1
- Also called 5

Binary Number Ranges

4 bit numbers
- Max value: 1111 = 15 in Base 10
